This mural project was done as part of Malonny Festival, in Marijampolé, Lithuania in July, 2015. The work is composed of three separate paintings, each approximately 20' X 14', flanking the entrances to a market, depicting imagery of figures co-dependent on technological devices. The title, is a reference to Plato and his Allegory of the Cave, which likens our view of reality as fragmentary and dijointed, like creating a narrative based on shadows projected onto the wall rather than viewing the events firsthand. I was assisted on this project by some amazing young minds (and hands) in Lithuania, and as a means to further their ownership of the project, I invited them all to design a tattoo for the figures. The last few images are some examples.
