Staircase
This work was made as a site-specific animation for Nepo House, host of the Nepo 5k Don't Run taking place in September 2011 in Seattle, Washington.
As I was unable to afford the trip out to Seattle, I thought I might be able to interact with the space remotely. I asked the gallery owner Klara Glosova to send me a photograph of a location in her space so that I could animate my own creatures interacting with it.
This is the result, and here's a brief explanation of my intentions:
It has four separate chapters, each one minute long:
1. Blue: Undifferentiated being (sorta like god as defined as unstructured all-ness).
2. Red: Infancy, sub-aquatic consciousness, pre-terrestrial life.
3. Green: Life in full bloom, love, youth.
4. Black: Routine, death and transcendence.
The soundtrack was made by me, mostly with the kaosilator.
